The Move

Wow. I’m addicted.

I know I just blogged a few days ago about my 3rd WoW character, DemynHeart. When I told Sean about her, he told me that I’m wasting my time because in the next patch, the playing field will be leveled out and warlocks will pretty much suck ass. I didn’t like that at all. So I plunged in and created a 4th characted called WildHeart. She’s a Tauren hunter and by far, she’s the best one I’ve got. Yes, she’s got her limitations. Currently, she doesn’t do well in close combat.

I leveled my hunter quite easily  to 14 in less than a day thanks to the Zygor mod guide. I realized that I wasted a lot of time with Silverrayne, my very first character because I had no mods or guides telling me where to go. My hunter on the other hand is now a lvl 21 and I’ve had her for only 2 days. That’s pretty kick ass. Granted, I don’t get to spend all hours of the day on WoW. But I’m doing pretty good. I suspect that my hunter will get to lvl 70 long before my mage does. I’m having way more fun with the hunter because of her pet who keeps her company and helps her kill mobs while she stands back with her gun. Don’t get me wrong, my Tauren still dies often, but not nearly as much as my mage.

Well, I better go. I got some work to do before I go WoW it ;)

Good Clean Joke

Here’s a quick and very clean haha joke sent to me by my sister-in-law. Thanks, Nik! ;)

The famous Olympic skier Picabo Street (pronounced Peek-A-Boo) is not just An athlete. She is now a nurse currently working at the Intensive Care Unit of a large metropolitan hospital.  She is not permitted to answer the hospital telephones. It caused too much confusion when she would answer the phone and say,

“Picabo, ICU.”

A third WoW toon?

I swore I wasn’t going to get addicted. I even swore that I wasn’t going to consider playing WoW.  But now I’m addicted. Granted, I don’t really have any other forms of entertainment besides my kids and my computer. However, I can’t seem to stop playing the game.

I started off with a female orc warrior named Silverrayne. The name doesn’t even come close to matching the ugliness of my toon. She’s quite strong but I only leveled her to 10. Took me a couple weeks because I didn’t know what the hell I was doing. I was completely lost.

So I decided to start a new toon called DeathStaar. She’s a blood elf mage with pretty kick ass spells. Unfortunately, she can only wear suck ass cloth armor and her spells suck mana like crazy, causing her to drink water constantly. The blood elves were not available to me because at the time I was on a 10 day trial. But Marty let me buy the full version and we’re currently paying $15 a month for the usage of the online game.

I got a lot of help questing and leveling Deathstaar when Sean’s Draegonis is online. We often play together. Along the way, I’ve gotten random help from other strangers who play the game. But most of it I’ve had to do on my own. I also added a lot of mods to help me quest and for me to have a much more enjoyable playing experience. I deleted a lot of the mods because they were either outdated, not working right, or I just didn’t need them. It’s been a lot of trial and error. Because of all that, Deathstaar is now a level 31 mage. Draegonis is a level 45 blood elf rogue. I want to lvl my toon to his level so that me and Sean can go on quests together.

Recently… I would say at about level 25, I found a mod called Zygor’s quests. Essentially, it’s a list of all the quests that I need to do from lvl 1 - 70. There are countless quests in WoW, but this mod only lists the essential quests that I need to do in order to level quickly. It tells me exactly what the quests are, what I need to do to complete them, and where I’m supposed to go to turn them in and get new ones. I tried out the mod on Deathstaar, and it leveled me quickly to 31 without much help from Draegonis. Sean can’t seem to understand why I’m leveling so fast. I haven’t told him about the mod yet. I have yet to use the mod on Silverrayne but I imagine I will once my mage and warlock are lvl 70s.

Last night I decided to start up a 3rd toon, DemynHeart, a raven haired blood elf warlock. I wanted a warlock because this class also has spells and they get to have pets. Remarkably, with the Zygor mod installed, I was able to level DemynHeart lightning fast. I’ve had her for less than 24 hours and she’s already a lvl 12 with an imp pet. The imp has been a tremendous help in keeping me alive through the quests. The quests I’ve done so far have been quite familiar because I did them for Deathstaar. The only difference is that I’m not wasting time doing other less important quests like I did with my 2nd toon. Therefore I’ve been able to level quickly.

I’m going to alternate between the two toons. It’s taking longer to level Deathstaar because of the amount of xp I have to earn. But with all the quests I have to do with her, it’s like practice for when I gotta do the same quests with DemynHeart. Ok enough about WoW… I’m an addict.

Costco

I love Costco. Does that sound weird? I also love shopping at Walmart (especially the superstore in Gilroy) but that’s a different story.

Last night after me and Marty got showered and dressed, we took the kids to the local Costco store. We’ve been members of Costco since 2004 and used our Executive membership heavily when we lived in WA and NV. But our membership ran out 2 years ago and we never renewed it until last night. We just couldn’t muster up $100 to pay for the Executive membership.

So instead we agreed on getting the regular Gold membership which is really all we needed anyway. It only set us back $50 instead of $100. We had gotten the executive membership to get the 2% back that we had spent at Costco. Anyway, we turned in our old cards and got our pictures taken for the new ones that we got. Jaz wanted to be in the picture when I stood in front of the camera but she was too short to be seen standing in front of me. I figured that I wasn’t going to make a big deal about her being there since her face wasn’t going to show up in the final anyway.

Once that was done, we took a quick trip through the aisles. We only had a few minutes to look since the store was closing. The longer we stayed there, the more I wanted to whip out my wallet and buy stuff. Costco has a lot of stuff that we use but in bulk. Since we don’t have a whole lot of money right now to spend on things, we’ve made a habit of using our Safeway card whenever we need to buy groceries. We’re there at least 1-3 times a week and we definitely save money using our card. We also go to Walmart to buy things because Walmart is well known for their slashed prices.

I got hungry staring at all the food and drinks that Costco sells in bulk. I got happy when I saw that they sell Starbucks Frappacino Mocha in bulk. Yum! If at all possible, that’s all I would need in the morning. I’m not a big breakfast person.

Memphis was very excited by the toys, clothes, food and electronics. He spotted a section where Costco sells Webkinz in a 2-pack for only $20! And they’re the full size plushees. I also pointed out the Ipod Nanos. That’s the latest and greatest thing that he wants. I heavily suspect that Memphis is turning into a gadget and computer geek like me. Jasmine on the other hand was happy when she saw the Tonka garbage and dump trucks that were for sale. She’s a lot like Marty in that she loves big trucks and anything with wheels that go fast.

I can’t wait to start shopping regularly at Costco again. Regardless of what our financial situation is, we’ll always shop at Safeway, Costco and Walmart… no matter how much money we end up making. We can be filthy rich and we’d still be regulars at those stores.

Memphis’ New Job

Posted by Midnight Goddess in General, Memphis, My Hubby, Unschooling

The other day Marty went to the balcony and started crushing cans for recycling. Memphis saw him do it and decided to go help his dad. Later I realized Memphis was doing it on his own with Marty looking on. Then he came in and told me that he gave Memphis a new job which involves him crushing all the soda cans. In return, Memphis gets to keep all the money from recycling the cans.

The beauty of unschooling is showing little by little. Memphis was actually excited, thrilled and proud of himself for having a “new job.” He told me and Jasmine all about it. It’s only been a few days but he hasnn’t gotten sick of it. I won’t force him but I’m proud of him for accepting his job.
